A technology company that deals in digital money, global payments and other applications will come to Kenya at an event called ETHSafar.
The event is scheduled for the 18e and 24e September in Kilifi County.
According to a statement from the organizers, the fair will bring together more than 1,000 participants from across mainland Africa.
The idea of the event is to delve into the Ethereum ecosystem, hack and celebrate the company’s progress over the years
Of course, and like other companies that have invested heavily in digital currency, Ethereum will be advocating for a decentralized future, the use cases that have since been rolled out across the continent, and the people who are at the origin of Ethereum technology.
That’s not all: the event will also be marked by discussions on how Ethereum will bridge the gap between “the global ecosystem and the African ecosystem”.
Some of the main tracks that will feature during the show include DAO (decentralized autonomous organization), DeFi (decentralized finance), Gaming, NFT and Impact.
The first two days (18e at 19e) will feature a bootcamp.
Those interested can attend the event virtually or physically.
From 20e at 22n/aETHSafari will cover a hackathon.
At that time, participants will be able to win cash prizes.
Teams will also be connected with local and international mentors who will help them tackle critical challenges.
A conference will then be held from 22n/a at 24e. According to organizers, it will feature a mix of local, regional and international speakers.
Participants will be notified of the conference agenda at a later date.
The final celebration will take place later on the last day (the 24th). Members will be able to interact and network.
Sunny Satva, main contributor to ETHSafari, said: “Great events leave room for others to contribute their creativity and energy. We deliberately left many gaps in the Nairobi schedule so that our local ash trees can organize events and meetings.
Benson Njuguna, Ethereum Foundation Africa Fellow and instigator of ETHSafari, said, “We have already had over 270 registrations for the event with nothing more than a few dates and a logo announced so far. This shows that there is huge interest in the space and we are excited to fill a gap by hosting the first ever Ethereum ecosystem event in the region and setting the stage for many future ETHSafari events across the continent.
